Kenyan movies to close out your Easter

The long Easter weekend is here. As some prepare to make this an all-holy weekend where they focus on the forgiveness of sins and the resurrection. Another group is busy making merry buying alcohol all weekend while some are staying indoors appreciating a good rest.
Am here for everyone to plug you all on some of the amazing Kenyan movies and series to titles to binge on this Easter holiday.
1. Single Kiasi
The intriguing two-part series talks the story of Becca who is frustrated with her husband's inability to provide; on the other hand, the perks of being with a married man have faded for Mariah, and Sintamei seems to have it all but does she? Love is a battlefield, but at least they have each other.
2. Mission to Rescue
This feature film is a Kenyan movie set along the Kenya- Somali border. Kenyan Special Operations Forces who are training for their next mission receive word that the Assistant County Commissioner and two others have been abducted by the Al-Shabaab militia.
Mission to rescue stems from the story of a French woman who was kidnapped by the Al-Shabab. Created in 2019, the idea seeks to highlight the effects of radicalization within the community that aim to curb terrorism.
3. Paa
Paa means to fly, this is a Kenyan teen drama series featuring 3 Kenyan girls who come together to tell stories of how they cope with living in the busy city of Nairobi highlighting social pressures, sexual harassment and bullying. The series also gives a glimpse of self-identity.
4. Salem
A telenovela series currently streaming on Maisha magic plus and Showmax. Salem’s storyline concerns two families – The Mufasas and the Karanis. The Mufasa family have a glamorous life but with cracks hidden beneath it, and lives in the upmarket neighbourhood of Karen while the Karani family is a humble tight-knit and loving family residing in the chaotic Salem, and whose lives are turned upside down by a devastating event.
5. Cash cow
A binge-worthy 7-minute short film that will definitely teach you a thing or two about trusting strangers.
6. Crime and Justice
Has two seasons in The crime series give you insight into how the justice system works. It features two detectives Silas and Makena fighting to safeguard the streets of Nairobi in a bid to curb crime and bring justice and the challenge of learning to trust each other's Intuition.
