Netizens recalls a harrowing night out at quiver lounge and demands justice
Harassment in Nairobi clubs is a rarely talked about phenomenon. Perhaps until a victim decides to break the silence on the matter but what happens to those who don't?
Are these Bouncers kept in clubs fully trained to ensure security or what criteria do they use to pick them? In the hands of security personnel, a huge number of people get injured while partying in the city clubs.
A recent story of a reveller caught my eye online. The reveller identified as This is Celestine via his Instagram account shared fun moments before the incident and harrowing images after a party that turned out to be a bloody massacre. The incident took place on 16/04/2022.
The club in question is a popular city club identified as Quiver Lounge. Describing the incident Celestine, posted disturbing images of bloody clothes and bruises and very seriously inflicted injuries.
"As you can tell from the videos we loved going to Quiver Lounge. But never again Until I get an official apology from your general manager telling me something has been done about your unprofessional bouncers.”
"He and his girlfriend were dancing and while at it a coca-cola bottle fell and landed into a dustbin that was nearby. When suddenly a female guard approached us and falsely accused my girlfriend of breaking glasses. The female guard told us we cannot dance thereafter watching us dance in the same spot for over an hour.
"While I was speaking to the female guard two bouncers arrived out of nowhere they manhandled me outside of the club and threw me. Leaving my girlfriend inside the club so I went back and took her and asked her if she was ok," he narrated.
A friend of ours noticed the commotion and came to ask what was going on and the guards just started beating him to point of inflicting serious injuries that were bleeding and are currently being stitched
“so whatever happened is not something we are taking lightly we really want to know a way forward,” Celestine says
“We never got back to the club, they harassed us that they wanted more money.......I am never going to Quiver lounge again”.
The club is yet to issue an official public apology over the incident.
