Renowned Nairobi politician Karen Nyamu has jokingly said she intends to spend her entire campaign money on food at the Burma market.
In a statement posted on her Facebook page on Saturday evening, Karen shared a photo of herself enjoying Chicken at Burma market, noting that that’s how she intends to spend what she had saved for campaigns.
“Pesa yangu ya campaign wacha nikule yote hapa Burma market… Happy Easter,” she posted.
Nyamu was set to contest the Nairobi senatorial seat but stepped down in favour of Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.
"My Nairobi team we worked so hard in the senate race. I want you to know that all that work is not in vain. My party UDA recognizes our efforts na mbele iko sawa. Hatupangwingi," she stated.

According to her, reports that she in talks with Jubilee Party over its Nairobi senatorial ticket are being peddled by Azimio la Umoja bloggers who are out to tarnish her name.
“Wacheni hii upuzi. I’m loyal to my party UDAand to my Party Leader WIlliam Ruto. We are in UDA for the long haul. This is wishful thinking on high heels. Disregard.
“Ignore Azimio bloggers. Nobody in UDA was forced to drop their bid and just like in every negotiation, there was give and take and all parties are happy,” she said.
It is expected that UDA party will nominate Nyamu for either a parliamentary or senatorial seat after the August 2022 election.
