Safina party presidential candidate Jimi Wanjigi is accusing president Uhuru Kenyatta of 'trying to rule through the backdoor.'
Speaking in Malindi County while drumming up support for his presidential bid, the businessman cum politician said Uhuru's support of ODM party leader, Raila Odinga's presidential bid is meant to ensure that he continues to 'rule' after the August 09, 2022 polls.
The Head of State will leave office in August after serving two terms. He has endorsed Odinga - his political nemesis in the 2013 and 2017 presidential elections, a move that does not sit well with Wanjigi.

"Uhuru should go home. His time is up. He should not try to take advantage of the situation to rule through the back door," he said as quoted by People Daily.
"The president is fighting to continue running the country through the back door. Kenyans should not allow that."
He stated that Uhuru and Odinga lack solutions to economic challenges currently facing a majority of Kenyans.
"We should not be cheated. Uhuru and Raila do not have a solution to the challenges afflicting the people of Kenya and if anything they are the causes of our problems. They should go home together."
Wanjigi initially intended to vie for the Country's top seat on the ODM party ticket, before being denied the chance to attend the party's National Delegates Convention (NDC) early this year.
ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna said he was locked out of the event because he has never been an ODM delegate.
