Over 350 students get full scholarships in Khwisero sub-county

More than 350 students will benefit from the Khwisero Sub-County Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) full scholarship program next year.

Area Member of Parliament (MP) Christopher Aseka said the exercise will focus on one needy student per village.

He said the applications and vetting process for the Khwisero NG-CDF bursary is set to be concluded this month.

Aseka said since its inception in 2018, over 1500 students have been recipients of the full scholarship program with students in National schools across the Country and Khwisero extra-county schools benefiting.

 “We target about 400 deserving students for the full scholarship next year. So far 354 students have transitioned to university from Khwisero NG-CDF full scholarship program,” he said.

 He pointed out that the “One needy student, One village, One scholarship” approach is central to ensuring that every village in Khwisero is given a chance to benefit directly from educational opportunities.

 “At the core of this program lies the initiative of supporting one bright and needy student from each village. This deliberate action embodies a commitment to equitable distribution of educational opportunities,” he said.

The legislator added that the program aims to create a ripple effect of progress and growth that uplifts not only an individual student but also the entire community.

The MP spoke in his constituency after touring NG-CDF projects and reiterated his commitment to building 25-storey buildings in various schools by 2027.

Already the MP has handed over nine-storey buildings to various schools in the sub-county.
