Pastor Ezekiel Odero is back in court.

The leader of New Life Prayer Centre and Church in Mavueni, Kilifi county through his lawyers wants his bank accounts unfrozen.

On Monday, Milimani high court in Nairobi gave orders freezing the accounts of the televangelist's accounts, as the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) investigate him over claims of money laundering.

He reportedly holds over 10 accounts, in various banks.

The Pastor, through an application before a Mombasa court wants his bank accounts reopened, as investigations against him and his church continue.

“That in the interim and pending the hearing and determination of this application, this honorable court be pleased to issue a conservatory order temporarily suspending and staying the implementation of all the consequential orders and proceedings in Milimani Magistrates Miscellaneous Criminal application number E1348 of 2023 to the extent that the same seek to freeze all the bank account belonging to the Petitioner, New Life Prayer Center and Church and Kilifi International School,” the Pastor through his advocates states in court papers.

He also wants the file before the Milimani high court transferred to Mombasa.

The Pastor was last week released on Sh3 million bond, with an alternative of Sh1.5 million cash bail.

He had spent 7 days in custody.
