President William Ruto condoled with Mary Muthoni, Principal Secretary for Public Health following the death of her father Phillip Ngari.

In a condolence message shared on his verified social media handles, President Ruto acknowledged that the family is going through painful times and pledged support during such difficult times.

"Our sincere condolence to the Principal Secretary for Public Health, Mary Muthoni, following the death of her beloved father, Phillip Ngari. Our thoughts and prayers are with every member of the family at this painful moment," Ruto's statement in part read.

The head of state proceeded to pay a glowing tribute to Mzee Ngari, wishing him eternal rest, stating, "Rest In Peace, Mzee Ngari."

Mary Muthoni had earlier shared a very private message of her father's condition, saying that he has been critically ill for the past few months and had to be under medication all the time.

In her emotional caption, she recounted efforts to care for her father at home.

"We managed to bring him home, though he required constant oxygen," Muthoni shared.

Despite these, the family was met with the loss of his life.

The fall of Mzee Ngari has come at a sad moment to Muthoni and the family; the mass condolenes by President Ruto were a sign of respect and support stretched to her during mourning.

The litany of those sending sympathies to the family further includes public figures, government officials, and members of the greater community-a demonstration of the close relationships fostered across Kenya's political and public-service divides.

Muthoni was an avid enthusiast in matters of public health, and for that, she sat at the forefront in Kenya's health policies, especially in the COVID-19 pandemic.

The death of her father has swung the public to her side, as many appreciate the challenges that face her, not only as a leader but also as a daughter losing a loved one.

The Muthoni family is going through this hard time with the support of both personal and public backing as the nation stands to offer comfort and strength.
