President Ruto Launches Construction and rehabilitation of Ksh. 600 million Homa Bay pier

President William Ruto has today Launched the construction and Rehabilitation of Ksh 600 million Homa Bay pier in Homa Bay County. 

The Homa Bay Pier will reconnect Kisumu, Entebbe, Mwanza and other strategic towns along the edges of Lake Victoria, thereby support fishing in the area and expand intra-East African trade.

According to Ruto, the pier will create more jobs, generate wealth and increase economic opportunities for the people in the region.

Ruto said that the pier will take 6 months to complete. 

President Ruto was In company of Homa Bay County Governor Gladys Wanga, Cabinet Secretaries Salim Mvurya, Kipchumba Murkomen, Eliud Owalo and a host of MPs and MCAs. 

Ruto while adressing residents of Homa Bay Town, pledged to work with the County to build a Sh350-Million modern fish market that will boost traders’ earnings.

The head of state later assessed the ongoing construction of the Homa Bay Affordable Housing Project which was launched launched in February during his tour to the county.
