President William Ruto has reshuffled his cabinet for the first since assuming office slightly over a year ago.

Over 5 Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) have been transferred in a move that neutral observers believe was long overdue.

Moses Kuria has been moved to the Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management from the Ministry of Trade and Investment.

Rebecca Miano has been moved from the ministry of East Africa Affairs to the Trade docket.

Alice Wahome, the outgoing CS for Water swaps places with Zachary Njeru in the Ministry of Lands, Public Works and Urban development.

Foreign and Diaspora Affairs CS Alfred Mutua has been redeployed to Tourism and Wildlife docket while Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action CS Aisha Jumwa has been moved to the Ministry of Gender, Culture, Arts and Heritage.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi will double up as the CS for Foreign Affairs, replacing Mutua.

Peninah Malonza has been transferred from the Tourism docket to the Ministry of East Africa Community.

Meanwhile, former nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura has been appointed government spokesperson.

He will be deputized by seasoned journalist Mwanaisha Chidzuga and Gabriel Muthuma.

Mwaura takes over from Cyrus Oguna who left after the 2022 general elections.

Oguna is currently serving as the Chief of Staff in Siaya governor James Orengo's administration.
