President William Ruto's two-day visit of Bungoma county enters its final day, today.
The Head of State starts his program early today, as he is set to launch several development initiatives in the area.
A program shared by Bungoma governor Kenneth Lusaka's communications team indicates that at 8am, he will be at Chepkurkur Technical Training Institute, in Mt Elgon Constituency.
Two hours later at 10am, the president and leaders accompanying him will pitch tent at Kapsokwony Township, Mt Elgon Constituency.
They will then visit Nabing'ng'e Technical Training Institute in Tongaren Constituency at 12 noon, before launching the construction of Bungoma County Aggregation and Industrial Park at Sang'alo, at 2pm.
At 4pm, the Head of State will be at the Nzoia Sugar Company, in Kanduyi Constituency, where he is expected to address the issue of reviving the company.
Yesterday, Ruto promised leaders and residents of Western region that his administration will ensure challenges being experienced in the sugar sector are dealt with, once and for all.
Speaking during an interdenominational prayer service, he said he has made the decision to ensure the sugar sector in Western region is revived.
"This is the government that will sort out this sugar problem in this region. Don't worry I will ensure everything is in order."
"This property belongs to the people of Kenya, and we will not accept anyone whose intention is to take advantage of our people. We work for the people of Kenya and not business people," he added.
This came as leaders drawn from Western Kenya agreed to support the Kenya Kwanza government.
Promising to drive president Ruto's Bottom up Economic Transformational Agenda, the political leadership, led by governors Kenneth Lusaka, Paul Otuoma, Fernandes Barasa and Wilbur Otichilo said the country's economy will thrive if leaders unite.
Governor Lusaka in his sentiments, hailed the Kenya Kwanza administration for what he termed as tremendous development witnessed in the Country.
"The stewardship of Dr Ruto is a true depiction of hardwork and dedication to better and improve livelihoods of the citizenry. The government will surely deliver on its mandate," said Lusaka.
"It is a new dawn for us. I call upon our critics to loosen up, we are on the wheels for transformation, we will not look back."
On his first day of the tour, the president officially opened the Bungoma County assembly administration block, and the 300 bed capacity maternal and child hospital at the Bungoma County Referral Hospital.
