President William Ruto calls for a United Global South in push for Inclusive world Order

President William Ruto has urged countries from the Global South to unite in adressing challanges affecting the world including inclusivity in the global systems and climate action.
The President was speaking while adressing the Second Voice of Global South Summit which was held Virtually on Friday.
"The Global South must rally together for effective solutions to counter the pressing challenges facing the world
It must mobilise intentionally to change global multilateralism and to secure a share of the benefits of globalisation. This is the time we moved forth to actualise inclusive transformation." President William Ruto said.
President Ruto said The Global South must rally together to push for reforms that adress their collective interests.
He cited fiscal measures taken by powerful economies, supply chain disruptions on account of conflicts, high-interest rates driving nations in debt distress as some of the main global issues affecting those in the Global South.
“These conditions have created an environment where millions of people are poor and unemployed, struggling against a global order that appears rigged against their aspirations,” he said.
The President said systematic Marginalization had held off the global South from economic Transformation and its only collective efforts within that will spur economic growth and radical changes in the multilateral discourse.
“The overdue economic renaissance of the Global South is held off by systematic marginalisation and exclusion from multilateral discourse in terms of effective participation and benefits,” he added.
The Head of state added that the leaders drawn from the Global South should take advantage of the upcoming COP28 to push for Global climate action emphasizing that the Global South will not Carry the repercussions of climate change perpetrated by Rich countries.
“It can no longer be business as usual when the people of the Global South are unfairly punished by extreme climate for the economic sins of others,” he added.
Indian Prime Minister oNahendra Modi and other leaders drawn from of the Global South were present.
