Raila is an attention seeker - Malala
By Peter Ochieng
United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party Secretary General Cleophas Malala has responded to what he terms as Azimio La Umoja One Kenya leader, Raila Odinga's 'walk to work gimmick.'
Odinga on Monday morning took a public service vehicle to work, in what he termed as solidarity with Kenyans battling high cost of living.
However, Malala in a response on Twitter wondered why the opposition leader was sorrounded by 'so many police officers.'
He seemingly suggested that he was a man on mission to seek for attention.
"Another normal sarakasi (gimmick) to hoodwink people. Which Kenyan walks to work surrounded by well trained officers and government fueled vehicles following and waiting for him?" wondered the former Kakamega Senator.
The ruling party's SG then wondered which officer Odinga was going to.
"And which work station was Raila Odinga and Azimio reporting to?"
For the record, as ODM leader and Azimio boss, Odinga of course has offices to report to.
In the Matatu, Odinga who aligned at Ambassador said he had a chance to meet Kenyans who shared with him how the going was getting tough, economically.
"I had a meeting with a team of ODM ladies in Nairobi CBD so I caught a matatu and alighted at Ambassador. I thank them for the invitation. t was painful to hear in detail about the hardship our people face daily due to the inept and illegitimate regime's actions."
Last month, he announced measures aimed at 'punishing' president William Ruto's administration after enactment of the Finance Act, 2023.
The measures announced by Odinga include walking to and from work, and carpooling to slow down on consumption of fuel, due to high costs of the commodity.
