Raila launches signature collection drive against Ruto's administration

Azimio La Umoja One Kenya leader Raila Odinga on Friday launched a '10 million strong' signature collection drive.

Addressing his supporters at the historic Kamkunji grounds in Nairobi, Odinga told his supporters that they need to collect over 10 million signatures to express displeasure over how the country is being run under president William Ruto's administration.

He said the signatures should be collected by end of next week.

"I Raila Amollo Odinga will start today," the former Prime Minister told his supporters.

"And all of you will get papers to sign so that by end of next week, we have over 10 million signatures to prove that we have taken back our authority."

Odinga said they have several activities lined up against the Kenya Kwanza regime, but insisted that "we come in peace."

"We want to tell the police that all our activities will be conducted in peace," added the ODM part leader.

Last month, the opposition leader said after collection of signatures, they will propose a motion to impeach President William Ruto.
