Nyaribari Chache and Nyaribari Masaba residents in Kisii County are disputing claims that County Deputy Governor Dr. Robert Monda has transitioned from the Orange Democratic Movement to the United Democratic Alliance.
Addressing the press at Bobaracho ward in Nyaribari Chache Constituency, the residents faulted the group saying Dr. Monda had the right of association just like any other leader because he was not serving only ODM supporters in the county.
This comes after the dissenting faction dared him to resign for allegedly scuttling his boss development agenda after he hosted governor Arati’s critics including Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka, South Mogirango MP, Silvanus Osoro and County Women Rep Donya Doris
Aburi.
Juma Mwamba from bobaracho ward appealed for those against Monda to respect him saying he brought to the table 1,400 votes, which contributed to governor Arati’s win in the gubernatorial race.
“Give Monda his due respect and let him have his right of association as a leader,” said Mwamba.
Another resident, Samuel Apoko also castigated those discrediting the deputy governor saying, “Be assured that we, the Nyaribari Chache residents, will stand in support of the deputy governor.
The dissenting group had earlier on condemned Monda for dining with political opponents of the governor.
They had also pledged their support for Arati saying they were satisfied with his development agenda.
