Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly Robert Alai recently on social media made several allegations against a man named Jackson Nderitu, who he said was the son of the late Nderitu Gachagua.

According to Alai, Jackson is serving a 20-year sentence in Manyani prison under charges of robbery with violence.

"If you don't trust what I am telling you, call Officer In Charge of Manyani prison, Frank 0722 609 431," he said.

The MCA claims these are trumped-up charges because Jackson was resisting disinheritance of his father's property.

Alai has accused Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua with orchestrating that situation, though no concrete evidence or official statement had supported these claims.

"Jackson Nderitu son to Nderitu Gachagua is at Manyani prison jailed for 20 years for trumped up robbery with violence charges just because he was resisting attempts to be disinherited his fathers' properties." Alai claimed.

"You people don't know how evil Rigathi Gachagua is, " Alai added.

The late Nderitu Gachagua, who died in 2017, was the first Governor of Nyeri County and a well-known politician.

He was the elder brother to Rigathi Gachagua, not his father. Nderitu Gachagua died of pancreatic cancer in London, leaving behind a family, inclusive of his wife Margaret Nyokabi, but most information about his children is not well documented in public, and no confirmed reports of a son named Jackson being imprisoned on such charges.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has been quite controversial, having his share of court cases, most of which relate to corruption, although some charges have been withdrawn.

In 2022, a court ordered him to forfeit KSh. 202 million over claims the funds were obtained through corrupt means. He has continued to deny involvement in corrupt practices.

Alai's claims are yet to be authenticated via official channels, and no investigation has been launched.

The Deputy President has not commented publicly on the allegations relating to Jackson Nderitu.

For now, it is a serious allegation which, for the moment, would require further investigation to be verified.
