Ruto: Kenya has great potential, we must work together
By Peter Ochieng
President William Ruto says Kenya is a country of great potential, adding that every Kenyan stands a chance to benefit big time, if we all stand united.
Speaking on Saturday during the commissioning of Kipsoen Technical and Vocational College in Elgeyo Marakwet County, the President said that going forward, all Kenyans must work together for the greater good of the country.
"This is our country and I have the decision that going forward, we are going to work as Kenyans. All of us on the same side making sure that we harness every opportunity, and every talent capability to make sure that we build our economy,” he stated.
He added that going forward, Kenyans should work together in addressing challenges affecting the country, among them debts and corruption. "We create jobs, we manage our debts, we deal firmly and decisively with corruption and make sure Kenya matches forward because Kenya is a country of great potential and we must work together to close ranks from across political divides, regional divides, Kenyans working together for the best interest of the Republic of Kenya.”
On the other hand, Ruto’s deputy Rigathi Gachagua welcomed the firing of what he termed as ‘arrogant’ Cabinet Secretaries by President William Ruto.
“We support the move to disband the Cabinet so that you can find ministers who can work; ministers who are not arrogant,” he said. “Ours is to assure you of our support as you reconstitute your government so that you can get a team that creates efficiency, harmony and puts the people of Kenya before their interests,” the DP stated.
Initially, Gachagua repeatedly accused some CSs of being arrogant and unnecessarily displaying opulence in public. “After eating and getting satisfied, please don’t vomit in the faces of Kenyans who have nothing to eat,” he once warned.
He was majorly at loggerheads with Kithure Kindiki (Interior), Moses Kuria (Public Service) and Aden Duale (Defence).
