Safaricom Foundation Donates Medical Equipment to Limuru Health Center

In a display of Corporate Social Responsibility (SCR), Safaricom Foundation donated equipment worth Sh2.2 million to Limuru Health Center in Kiambu County.
The donation included a standby generator, laundry machines, a water tank, nebulizers, and various other medical equipment.
Kiambu Health CEC Dr. Elias Maina said the items would offer a much-needed boost to the facility and significantly improve the quality of healthcare services offered at the center.
“On behalf of the County Government of Kiambu, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the support and goodwill of Safaricom Foundation as the County can now offer better medical services to the community following the donations these essential hospital equipment,” said Maina.
He added that and the donation would also promote demand and access to better health services since the Foundation have ensured the health center is well-equipped to handle medical emergencies.
“With the health facility now having a standby generator which will ensure there is enough power to run the facility at all time, this will go a long way in supporting the hospital to provide quality healthcare for the people in this area,” said Kiambu health CECM.
Safaricom Representative Lindah Kasinah stated that the foundation’s CSR is aimed at improving the quality of healthcare services offered mostly in vulnerable communities.
“Twenty years ago, Safaricom Foundation was born, and we began our journey of partnering with Kenyan communities to contribute towards improved livelihoods, since then, we have invested over Sh7 billion in more than 4000 community projects, impacting millions of Kenyans across all 47 counties,” said Kasinah.
She further added that the initiative aims to uplift healthcare standards, ensuring a healthier future for the community.
“Driven by our purpose of transforming lives, our focus has evolved over the years to three thematic pillars where we can make the biggest impact for Kenyans, the pillars include Education, Health, and Economic Empowerment,” she added.
The Foundations commitment aligns with the Country’s Vision 2030 plan on health care, which strives to promote equitable access to quality healthcare.
