Lusaka's administration recieves drugs worth Sh4.3 million

The department of health in Bungoma county has received another consignment of drugs from the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (KEMSA).
The consignment is worthy Sh4.3 million.
It is the second supply in a period of one week, after the county under governor Kenneth Lusaka last week recieved another one worthy Sh38 million.
The drugs were supplied to 128 healthy facilities and 19 health centres, across the county. Speaking at Bungoma County Referral Hospital (BCRH) after receiving the second consignment, Dr Andrew Wamalwa, County Executive Committee Member (CECM) in charge of health said the drugs will last for the next two months.
He said they are looking foward to another supply from KEMSA in December.
"We are glad we have received these drugs, it will go a long way in serving our people for the next two months, another consignment will be delivered in December, this a step forward in ensuring that our people live a healthy life," said the CECM.
The drugs include 50, 000 bottles of paracetamol syrup for children and 52, 000 bottles of piriton syrup for children. Wamalwa said the drugs will be supplied to all health facilities across the county, in the coming days.
The CECM at the same time warned heads of health facilities against misuse and loss of the drugs.
"This medicine is meant to help our suffering patients, let it not be diverted to private health facilities, those found engaging in such backward activities will face disciplinary measures."
