By Joshua Cheloti Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro now says it’s the people in government that are to blame for the current shortage of fuel, gas, and milk that the country is facing. For several weeks now, motorists have been struggling to get fuel, with many petrol stations experiencing a shortage, due to what has been said as delays by the government to release fuel subsidy funds to oil marketers. Gas prices have also been on the rise with many milk shelves also empty. But even as Kenyans lament over the effects of the shortage of the key commodities, the vocal legislator says people in government are responsible. There is no gas and the person selling it is the handshake brother to the President,” said the Kiharu MP. “There is no milk in supermarkets yet our farmers are selling the commodity to companies run by people in government,” he added. Several oil companies have been linked to the Kenyatta family, with the Odinga family said to be involved in the gas business. Concerning the upcoming presidential contest, the legislator exuded confidence that Kenya Kwanza will win by a huge margin. It is presumed Deputy President William Ruto will be the alliance’s presidential candidate and will face off with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga who is flying the Azimio la Umoja ticket. “I can now confirm to Kenyans that what we are looking for now is a winning gap. You (DP Ruto) have already won the election. We are looking at a big margin and we are confident we will win by over 70 percent,” said Ndindi Nyoro. The Kenya Kwanza team was recently joined by National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, boosting their bid to form the next government. Muturi had been picked to fly the Democratic Party (DP) presidential ticket.
