Edwin Sifuna, the secretary general of the Orange Democratic Movement, has addressed the matter of the division within the Azimio coalition.

This follows claims that a number of members have begun to dispute over vacancies.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, Sifuna asserted that the Azimio remains powerful.

The secretary has refuted reports that ODM members are at odds.

A few days ago, the media reported that there was a rift in the party.

"I want to assure the public and Kenyans who support Azimio that there is no disagreements in Azimio because we have seen some quotes in the papers a few days ago that somehow there are some members who opposed the proposal of Junet, but I want to assure you there is unity," he assured.

Members' opinions appeared to have changed after President William Ruto nominated ODM members to the Cabinet.

Hassan Joho, Opiyo Wandayi, Wycliffe Oparanya, and John Mbadi are the CSs who have been nominated.

Another thing that allegedly caused division in the party was the positions left by the four.

Sifuna has promised to have a procedure to appoint leaders who will fill the gaps left.

"We said about the whole issue when we were there at the last meeting that there will be consultations that will continue and nothing will be damaged because it is not the first time there have been vacancies in the party," he said.

According to Sifuna, ODM has a very bright future and they look forward working together.
