Bomet County senatorial aspirant Wilson Sossion has rubbished reports claiming that he had resigned from UDA party hours to its nominations. On Wednesday, a letter claiming that Sossion had resigned from UDA went viral on social media.  The letter which Sossion has now declared fake, claimed that he was unhappy with how things were being run at UDA party, especially in regards to the nominations. “...I am not confident in your nomination exercise and I believe I can comfortably on another platform. I joined the party with the hope that my divergent political views will be accommodated and respected, but to date, the party has ignored the contribution,” the letter read in part.

Reacting to the letter, Sossion claimed that it was the work of his opponents and urged residents of Bomet to ignore it completely. He further noted that he is firmly in the race and called upon his supporters to turn up and large numbers and vote for him in the nominations on Thursday, April 14, 2022. “I am in the senatorial race ! Ignore propaganda being circulated by my opponents that I have resigned. This is fake and I am assuring the locals of Bomet county that I am fully prepared for tomorrow's nomination exercise. Ignore the cowards, we will win! My opponents are panicking,” Sossion said. Sossion was a member of ODM Party and a close ally to former Prie Minister Raila Odinga, but he ditched the Orange Party for UDA late last year. While making the shift, Sossion noted that the switch was inspired by feedback from the people of Bomet.
