The Prime Suspect in the gruesome murder of hair Stylist Jennifer Mwende has been arrested and placed under police custody.
Phyllis Nzula Mbithi was arrested in a Namanga-bound matatu minutes past 9pm after weeks of relentless manhunt by crime research detectives who were actioning forensic-led intelligence.
The accused is linked to the murder of Jane whose body was discovered dumped at a pit latrine in Mlolongo.
In the dreadful case of a tragic love triangle, It appeared that Phyllis had threatened Mwenda a number of times over a man they seemed to be sharing.
Mwenda would then go missing prompting his close friends and family to report her disappearance to the Police which triggered the Investigations.
Forensics reveal that Mwenda had been heinously strangled her with a bedsheet as Faith (one of the accused) suffocated her with pieces of cloth to avoid any screams
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Phyllis was arrested last night in Kitengela town as she attempted to escape to Tanzania.
The suspect's arraignment is scheduled for Monday, October 30, where she will join her accomplices Faith and Wanza who pleaded to murder charges earlier yesterday.
