Youth Affairs, Arts, and Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has unveiled the Talanta Hela logo and awarded sponsorship to the tune of over Sh320 million to the Athletics Kenya during the logo design awards ceremony at the Kenya Cultural Centre in Nairobi.

While honouring the top three entries of the Talanta Hela logo competition with cash prizes, CS Namwamba stated that the awards ceremony is the epitome of talent pays and that Kenya is becoming a global leader in bringing up talents and monetising them.

In the previous month, the Ministry released Sh267 million to the Schools Drama and Film festivals held in Mombasa to support the activities going on in the school ecosystem besides supporting the school ball games going on in Kenya.

“We are doing that because we realise that in every ecosystem where there is talent, we have to invest,” he reiterated.

Namwamba added that through Talanta Hela, a government initiative aimed at supporting the youth in Kenya by monetising their talents, the government will offer opportunities for those who wish to monetise their talents.

This is successively followed by Kenya's first upcoming National talent camp which will be held at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani.

“Through Talanta Hela, this country is creating a platform where we can talk about creativity in the same way we talk about doctors, lawyers and other drivers of the economy.”

As the Talanta Hela initiative continues to grow, the CS stated that partnerships are highly encouraged for it to reach greater heights.

“Our first point of contact in terms of partnerships is the creative and sports people themselves,” he said.
