The whole community is behind you, Senator tells Gachagua
By Peter Ochieng
Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa has seemingly suggested that the Mt. Kenya community remains solidly behind former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Gachagua was removed from office by impeachment, before Kithure Kindiki, another son of Mt. Kenya was sworn in to replace him.
However, according to Senator Thang’wa, residents of Mt.Kenya are behind Gachagua, seemily implying that they are less concerned with Kindiki’s current position.
"The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials,” the legislature wrote in a post on social media.
“No matter how heavy the trials, remember that resilience is your greatest strength. You've come so far, and there's a whole community behind you, rooting for your comeback. Hang in there – brighter days are closer than you think,” he added.
His post attracted an array of reactions, some backing his stand while others accused him of misadvising Gachagua.
Here is a sample:
Mwenda K Arachi: Absolutely, we are all behind our son. No amount of intimidation will take us on a different route.
Bernard Yunis: You really worked hard to misadvise him yet you knew he had zero numbers for his rescue.
Eliud Ruto: Remember Ruto is the president, don't forget that.
AK Squared: Silence is a weapon, behind our own.
Kalastie Superboy: Together with him till the end.
Macharia Wa Kamau: He's not eligible for any elective seat for the next 10 years please. Just accept and move on.
Paul Mburu: You are not genuine in your motivation writings. Wamunyoro is gone forever. He's forgotten politically. 2027 you will cry more in opposition.
Charles Kamakia Impwi: Senator Karungo, work hard to destroy Riggy G completely, like you did during his impeachment motion. Sasa yuko home na wewe uko kwa office.
Sandrah Kimani: You made your friend get kicked out of his job now you're making him use church leaders to abuse the president. You're such a disappointment, we really expected young leaders like you to produce serious changes.
Over the weekend, Gachagua revealed that he was speaking to various political leaders in the country, for a possible alignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
