Two scrap metal suspects have been arrested in Hola town

Tana River Sub County Police Commander (SCPC) Daniel Kitavi has said two people suspected to be involved in stealing metal windows, doors, Hola irrigation scheme metal structures and farm tractors harrow jembes have been arrested and will be taken to court after investigations are completed.
Speaking to the press yesterday at his Hola office, the SCPC said that thefts cases were reported at Hola Agriculture office where the farm tractors are stationed, at Kenya Medical Training Centre (KMTC) and at Hola County Referral Hospital.
Kitavi also said cases of metal structures have increased in Hola and Bura Towns following the establishment of scrap metal dealers business saying, his office is monitoring those businesses if are found dealing with illegal scrap metal, they will forced by the government to shut down and leave Hola and Bura Towns.
He said, many people have reported at the Police station incidents of their wheelbarrows, metal windows, metal doors and sufurias being stolen from their homes by people who are believed to selling those items to scrap metal dealers.
The SCPC cautioned idle youths who are loitering in Hola and Bura town that if they will engage in illegal income activities, they will be arrested for being suspected to be stealing metal items in the area.
