By Peter Ochieng Former Bomet governor Isaac Ruto has explained why his party - (Chama Cha Mashinani - CCM) has not yet joined the Kenya Kwanza Alliance led by Deputy President William Ruto. Isaac Ruto was conspicuously missing this week, as representatives of over 10 parties signed a deal to join Kenya Kwanza, in a move aimed at cementing their support for Ruto's presidential bid. Despite missing the event, Ruto says his support for the second in command is unconditional, and that he did not need to sign the deal to win concessions. Isaac Ruto served as the first Bomet governor from 2013 to 2017, before losing to the late Joyce Laboso during the 2017 elections. He is seeking to recapture the seat on August 09. He will face off with whoever wins UDA's gubernatorial party nominations, between incumbent Hillary Barchok, and former Mining and Petroleum Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) John Mosonik.
