Zlatan Ibrahimovic has finally hang his football boots.

Ibracadabra as he is known in football circles, took to the podium on Sunday, to announce to AC Milan fans that he had taken the last bow aged 41 years.

"The first time we arrived at Milan you gave me happiness, the second time you gave me love. From my heart I want to thank you fans. You welcomed me with open arms, you made me feel at home. I will be a Milan fan for the whole It's time to say goodbye to football, not you," he said after AC Milan vs Hellas Verona Serie A clash.

The big Swede has had a trophy-laden career in which he also represented Malmo, Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, PSG, Manchester United and the LA Galaxy in the United States of America (USA).

He won a total of 14 league titles in various countries, among them Netherlands, Spain, France and Italy, having been at the top of his game for 24 years.

During an interview in 2021, he ruled out ever becoming a football coach, because 'I would slap eight players.'

"Impossible. Because during the match I’d slap at least two players and after the match, eight!"

Despite having represented some of the most prestigious clubs in the World, Ibrahimovic bows out minus a Champions League crown.

He played 988 games, scored 573 goals and won a total of 32 trophies,.
