1 person dead, 3 injured as police officer opens fire in night club

One person died in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, after a police officer opened fire in a popular night club in Nakuru.

The 2am incident saw the officer shoot and kill a barmaid, after an argument ensued over his bill.

The officer was reportedly handed a bill of Sh16,000, which allegedly made him furious.

He allegedly shot the barmaid and three others in protest, before fleeing from the scene.

She died while the three were rushed to hospital with multiple injuries.

According to a police report, one of the revellers was injured in the chest, another in the upper abdomen and the third one in the pelvis, abdomen and chest.

The suspect was later arrested and a Jericho pistol with two rounds of 9mm ammunition recovered from him.
