The National Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) has a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Dr. Anthony Omerikwa is the new sheriff in town, taking over from professor John Muteti who has been holding the position albeit on an acting capacity, since May, 2023.
His appointment was confirmed on Wednesday morning.
"The Authority has this morning welcomed the new CEO Dr. Anthony Omerikwa who has officially taken over from the immediate Acting CEO Prof. John Muteti. The ceremony was presided over by the Board Chairman Stephen Mairori. Prof. Muteti reverts back to his substantive position of Director, Policy and Planning at the Authority," NACADA said in a statement.
Prof. Muteti assumed office after Victor Okioma retired from the position, having served for a term of five years.
Dr. Omerikwa earlier served as National Social Security Fund (NSSF) CEO for a period of 7 years.
He left NSSF in November 2022, before David Mwangangi was appointed as acting CEO.
