Babu Owino: I have spent Sh58 million on DJ Evolve's bills

Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili on Thursday revealed that he has spent over Sh58 million on DJ Evolve's medical and other bills.
The vocal MP popularly known as Babu Owino has been taking care of the DJ, whose really name is Felix Orinda, since a shooting incident at B Club Nairobi, on 17th January 2020.
Defending himself before magistrate Benard Ochoi in a matter he was found to have a case to answer over misuse of a firearm, the MP said among the expenses include buying the DJ a Sh17 million house in Nairobi, where he currently resides.
"The family was not able to take care of him and as a leader I continued paying the medical bills. Total bills accumulated to Sh23 million. He was immobile and could not move.I bought an apartment at Kilimani at around Sh17 million and hired two nurses, 2 physiotherapists 1 occupational therapists which up to date am paying Sh300,000 per month,” said Owino.
"I have paid Sh11.1million and its still going on for 37months. I take care of his upkeep of Sh70,000 per month to pay bills and food. Medicine is Sh80,000 per month. I have paid Sh5.5 million for 37 months," he added.
Additionally, he said he is planning to take the DJ to India for further treatment, besides openning a DJ academy business for him.
The MP however denied shooting the DJ, claiming that the bullet that hit him may have come from elsewhere, since his gun had 'jammed and could not shoot on that fateful day.'
