Vocational Training College students in Bomet County are set to benefit from bursaries and scholarship program rolled out by the County Government.
This is According to Bomet County Governor Prof Hillary Barchok who said Sh. 25 million have been allocated towards funding the program.
Prof Barchok said since the program was initiated seven years ago, enrollment in the colleges has increased steadily with a rise from 4,640 to 5,383 trainees in the 33 VTCs in the County.
He was speaking at Silibwet stadium on Saturday where the colleges county ball games final competition was held.
The Governor said inadequate school fees was, therefore, no longer an excuse for lack of training on skills and exploitation of talents that would lead to self-employment.
Saying his administration was keen on ensuring that it channeled resources and time in supporting the VTCs, Barchok said enough instructors have been employed.
While congratulating Tegat and Embwen VTCs for wining men and women football respectively, Barchok encouraged the trainees to further their education in their disciplines and aim to be job creators.
