Residents of Mutarakwa Division in Bomet Central have a reason to smile after public participation was done to introduce two divisions, Mutarakwa in Bomet Central and Kipsonoi in Sotik sub-county.
The residents had challenges in getting services from the government such as employment and acquisition of government documents.
Speaking during the public participation forum held in Chebole, Members of Parliament for Sotik and Bomet Central Amb. Francis Sigei and Mr. Richard Kilel lauded the move and asked the County Commissioner to speed up the process so that residents start benefiting from government services.
Sigei noted that the government has been working towards ensuring services are brought closer to citizens.
Bomet County Commissioner Dr. Ahmed Omar said that government services will be improved from the newly formed administrative jurisdictions, adding that the expected police recruitment will not affect the residents.
“We will be moving steadfastly to gazette the new divisions formed to ensure that residents of Mutarakwa and Kipsonoi Divisions are benefiting from government services immediately. We also want to inform our people that any anticipated police recruitment won’t be affected by the proposed changes in boundaries until they are gazetted,” said Omar
