Bumula Member of Parliament Jack Wamboka has attacked Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for his statement regarding the nomination of cabinet secretaries.

On Sunday, July 24, 2024, Gachagua claimed some leaders with bad intentions are plotting to end the tyranny of Mt. Kenya. The deputy president insisted that those plots will not bear any fruits.

This statement has been strongly criticized by the Bumula MP saying it is incitement to ethnic, favoritism and regionalism.

Despite the deputy president supporting the nomination of Cabinet Secretaries , his remarks have been seen to be full of favoritism and tribalism.

Wamboka has described Gachagua as a leader who is reverting the nation to the era of oppressive rule based on tribalism, ethnicity, and regionalism.

"Deputy President of our Kenya is the biggest embarrassment of our time," Wamboka slammed Gachagua.

Addressing the residents of Bumula on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, Wamboka criticized the deputy president and described him as the main obstacle in the government of Kenya Kwanza.

In addition, the member of parliament emphasized that Gachagua has been embarrassing the leadership of President Ruto and thus setting back progressive efforts.

"I want to tell William Ruto, Rigathi Gachagua Geoffrey is an embarrassment to you," he said.

He has strongly opposed Gachagua's statement that he wants the Mount Kenya community to benefit more than other communities, saying that every community has the right to benefit from the government regardless of ethnicity or regions they come from.

"The people of Bumula, Kenya has 20 Cabinet slots, 45 tribes. The Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya stands up and tells the President, 'our Wikikuyu, who do we want'... Here in Bumula, I am with the Luhya, I am with the Teso, where are the Sabaots?" explained Wamboka.

Wamboka has urged President Ruto to ensure that the leaders in power have discipline, integrity and respect Kenyans and respect that embrace equality.

"The President told your people to respect themselves, that is what has made Kenyans feel bad about themselves. Let us have equality," pleaded MP Wamboka.

Wamboka has explained that since the nation gained independence, some areas have been isolated and left behind in terms of development while others are getting stronger.
