Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka has this morning hosted Japan's visiting Ambassador to Kenya Ken Okaniwa at the county headquarters.

The visit to the county is historic as the two countries, Kenya and Japan celebrate 60 years of long standing bilateral relationships.

Bungoma is among the border counties that have directly benefited from Japan's pool of investments in education, infrastructural development among others.

Lusaka expressed his gratitude to the visiting Ambassador, affirming his total commitment, in solidifying and expanding partnership with Japan in elevating and equipping of Technical Vocational and Education Training (TVETs) institutions and value addition in Industrial Park.

"This visit by the Ambassador is historic to our county, as we celebrate the long standing ties with Japan. We look forward to tapping into their great pool of network for the common good of our people,” he said.

The Ambassador was in the company of the National Assembly Speaker, Moses Wetang'ula and a host of leaders from the county.
