Bishop Paul Kariuki of Wote Catholic Diocese, is calling upon all leaders in the county, to work closely together, to spur development and promote well-being of residents.
Speaking at Kathonzweni, Sunday, Kariuki said through unity of purpose, residents will benefit from socio-economic empowerment, education, and health.
“I appeal to you to work together, put politics aside to develop the county and by extension our nation at large,” said Kariuki.
Bishop Kariuki said he has met with priests, religious leaders, government officials, and professionals, to come-up with a roadmap for development in the county.
“Church and government are not competitors, but they complement each other by supporting education, health, and social welfare of the people,” he added.
He challenged the families to teach their children good values and virtues that will guide them in the future when holding church, government, or political office positions.
“Families should be at the forefront in fighting corruption in their homes, we will end corruption if we teach our children good ethics, values, and virtues in life,” noted Kariuki.
Kariuki is the first Bishop of Wote Diocese, which was created out of Machakos Diocese in July 2023 by Pope Francis.
