Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration Prof Kithure Kindiki earlier this morning chaired a security meeting with Regional Commissioners draw from eight regions within the country at his office in Nairobi.

The eight include Dr. Abdi Hassan (Rift Valley), Fredrick Shisia (Central), Katee Mwanza (Nairobi), Paul Rotich (Eastern), Macharia Irungu (Western), John Otieno (North Eastern), Rhoda Onyancha (Coast) and Florah Mworoa (Nyanza). Also in attendance was Principle Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo and Secretary National Administration, Beverly Opwora.

During the meeting, the eight registration Commissioners presented the unique security needs of their areas of jurisdiction as the government continues to explore more responsive strategies to remain ahead of the enemy and criminal agents.

The meeting also featured discussions on the planned reforms in the delivery of citizen services from various field offices, with a prime focus on the processing and issuance of passports and birth/death certificates.

PS Omollo in his Facebook account stated the role of National Government Administrative Officers and their role in aiding the National Government to provide essential Service delivery.

"National Government Administration Officers (NGAOs) are the overpasses that link the National Government to the grassroots, aiding in promoting good governance and effective service delivery." Omollo stated.

Regional Commissioners are tasked to coordinate Government functions within counties on critical matters around security and establishment of Sub-National structures.
