CS Owalo hands Maseno School students Sh200, 000 for bread, blue band

Maseno school students will enjoy a toast of bread and blue band offered by ICT and digital economy Cabinet Secretary (CS) Eliud Owalo.
Owalo was at the school on Wednesday morning for launch of a digital library, as one of the steps towards achieving president William Ruto's digital economy agenda.
The library has 50 brand new computers.
Owalo is an old school of Maseno.
"I have got sentimental attatchment to this School," he said.
"During our time, Maseno was the only School. The rest were high schools," he added.
The CS said in the not so distant future, worn out roads and pavements in the School will be repaired by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) in collaboration with Kenya Urban Roads Authority.
After all was said and done, the CS offered Sh200, 000 to the students for bread, blue band and tea.
"I am going to leave you with Sh200, 000 for bread, blue band and tea. You must get bread, you must get blue band, and you must get tea. I am going to leave the money here with your principal," said the CS.
"Aaaaaaah!" the students roared back.
They did not want the money to fall in the hands of their Principal Peter Owino.
Owalo then called the School Captain, Basil Odiwo who recieved the money on behalf of his charges.
Maseno School has a population of 3, 000 students, which means each learner will get Sh66 for bread, blue band and tea.
The CS was accompanied by among others, Suba South MP Caroli Omondi, Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo and former Kisumu Senator Fred Outa.
