Mary Moraa danced to a golden moment after winning the 800m women's race gold during the world Athletics championships in Budapest tonight.
The 23-year old ran a personal best of 1:56.03 to beat her top challanger and defending champion Athing Mu of the USA who came third in 1:56.61 behind silver winner Keely Hodgkonson of Britain.
Hodgkonson clocked 1:56.34, 31 seconds away from Moraa.
Moraa won bronze in Oregon during the previous championships with yet another fresh memory of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham where she won her first gold.
Mu, who led from the beginning only to fade in the last 100m and Hodgkinson, who once again won silver after claiming the same medal at Tokyo 2020 and Oregon 22, made up the rest of the podium in Budapest.
Moraa, now a new shinning star in the face of Athletics, raised as a poor orphan looks to repeat history during the 2024 Olympic games in Paris.
