By Peter Ochieng

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) on Thursday unveiled a premier league broadcaster partner, a week into the 2023/2024 season.

It is a seven-year deal worth USD 1 Million for the first season, with an increment of 10% for the subsequent seasons. That is about Sh148 million per year.

Under the deal, Azam Media will air four matches in every round on their Pay TV and Digital platforms.

Speaking during the launch of the partnership, FKF President Nick Mwendwa expressed his gratitude to Azam Media, for dedicating resources towards the development of the league and Kenyan football at large.

“We thank Azam Media for agreeing to partner with us. This partnership will go a long way in improving the visibility of the league and in the long run, making our league even more competitive,” said Mwendwa.

“As a Federation, we remain committed to the development of Kenyan football and as such, we shall continue seeking partnerships with like-minded companies with a view of increasing the commercial value of the league.”

“We have started something that we hope is a step in the right direction. We want to add two more deals that we will hopefully be back to announce within the next one week,” added the FKF boss.

Azam Media promised nonstop action as the 2023/2024 FKF season sets in motion.

"We're thrilled to announce a monumental agreement worth USD 9.1 million between Azam Media Limited and the Football Kenya Federation!” the pay TV platform announced.

“In an exciting 7-year deal, we're set to revolutionize the way you experience football! Get ready for non-stop action, thrilling matches, and top-notch coverage as we bring you every moment of the Kenya Premier League like never before.
