Former Runyenjes Member of Parliament has stated clearly that the country has not solved the insecurity problems since independence.

Njeru Kathangu has said since 1963 Kenya has failed to fight for food security which has become a paramount problem to the nation.

Speaking during an interview with Citizen tv on Wednesday,Kathangu has expressed that the country is also in a dire period in providing good health services.

In his speech,he has also mentioned security against aggression that has been paralysing the young people in the society through drug abuse and alcohol.

"Some people think that aggression is Al shaabab attacking Kenya,Somalia attacking Ethiopia,no,Aggression is this that you got a country somewhere planning and executing programs to make sure that Kenyans continue to be deprived one of them is drugs in society introduce illicit and killer bruise in that society to make sure they are obstructed,"he said.

At the same time, the lawmaker has admitted that the country has not put in any proper measures to fight for these securities from food to health.

Since the country gained independence,he has argued that it has been focusing on cash crop production rather than production thus leading to low levels of food production.

Former MP has urged the government to collaborate with relevant ministries to come up with nutrition productions that will focus on increasing food production and eradicate food insecurity.

"Food production is non-existent in Kenya at least not in 1962,63 whatever was being produced was sisal, pyrethrum, tea, coffee, cotton, tobacco, etc there is nothing like food,"he explained.

He listed Kenya as one of the countries that are struggling to fight for diseases that have hampering labor effort.

According to the most recent data,Kenya's food security situation has arguably never been worse, with over 5.4 million people experiencing severe food insecurity between March and June of this year, and that number is only expected to rise in the coming months.
