A collaborative effort by healthcare professionals from Iten County Referral Hospital (ICRH), AIC Kapsowar Mission Hospital, Chesoi, and Tot Sub County Hospital is bringing free medical-surgical screening and treatment to the heart of Marakwet East Sub County.

Hundreds of residents have turned up at Tot Sub County Hospital the venue of the medical camp, making it a success.

Dr. Fransisca Jemutai, a medical practitioner at Iten County Referral Hospital, emphasized the importance of this healthcare campaign.

"We are here to serve our community and provide medical assistance to those who need it most. These services are free, so we encourage all residents to take advantage of this opportunity," she said.

The medical camp, which started on Friday last week, has attracted a diverse crowd of patients from Marakwet East Sub-county and surrounding areas. Many have come with various medical conditions, seeking relief and expert care, which might have otherwise been financially out of reach.

Residents have expressed their gratitude for the medical camp, praising the teams of doctors, nurses, and support staff for their dedication and hard work.

One resident, Mary Kiprop, shared her experience, "I have been suffering from a painful condition for a long time, but I couldn't afford the treatment. This medical camp is a blessing, and I am thankful for the care I am receiving."

The medical camp offers a wide range of services, including screening for common ailments, surgical consultations, and referrals for advanced medical treatment when necessary. Many patients who might have been living with untreated conditions are now receiving the care they require.

Dr. William Korir, a surgeon from AIC Kapsowar Mission Hospital, explained, "We are not only providing immediate treatment but also ensuring that patients who need further specialized care are referred to appropriate facilities. Our goal is to improve the overall health of the community."
