Gachagua hosts late All B’s family

By Peter Ochieng

Deputy President (DP) Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday hosted the family of late Musician, Ali Khamis, popularly known as Ally B.

The musician, famously known for his Maria and Bembea singles died two weeks ago, while receiving treatment at a Mombasa hospital. The family said he succumbed to high blood pressure. Gachagua hosted his family at his official residence in Mombasa.

The second in command pledged to walk the life’s journey with his young family. “I also delivered President @WilliamsRuto's message of comfort as we continue to pray for Ally B's soul to rest in eternal peace. We will walk this life's journey with his young family,” Gachagua wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“The creative arts industry is central to the Ruto administration as we seek to develop potential talent, not only for entertainment and educating, but also as a source of a dignified life for the artists and their families,” he added.

He was accompanied by former Starehe Member of Parliament (MP), and musician cum businessman Charles Kanyi, alias Jaguar, among others.

The late Ally B was accorded an Islamic funeral service before his body was buried at Maziara ya Cobra cemetery in Mishomoroni, Mombasa County on 2nd November, 2023. His brother requested radio stations and entertainers to stop playing his songs following his death.

“Msicheze miziki yake tena. Naomba iwe anayetaka akimkumbuka amtilie dua. Lakini msipige miziki yake, tafadhali. Nyimbo zake tosha. Muombeeni lakini msipige miziki yake. Mimi kama ndugu yake nimesema,” he pleaded.

This translates to, “Don’t play his music again. Anyone who wants to remember him, please pray for him, but don’t play his music, please. Enough of his songs. Pray for him but don’t play his music. As his brother, I kindly request.”

The musician was married but not much is known about his family.
