Haiti's Criminal Investigations department visits DCI Headquarters to assess Kenya's criminal intelligence

A delegation from the Haitian Directorate of Criminal Investigations led by its Director Mr Frederic LECONTE visited the DCI Headquarters,in Nairobi on Friday afternoon as part of a benchmarking assignment on Kenya's criminal intelligence department. 

Mr Frederic LECONTE alongside his delegation were hosted by Kenyan's DCI direct Mr Mohamed I. Amin where they engaged on exchange programs that could see the investigators from both countries hold joint trainings aimed at sharing best practices.

In the meeting, Mr LECONTE acknowledged Kenya's criminal investigation intelligence and committed the preparedness of his team to benchmark with the Kenyan team and learn from Kenya's expertise. 

He also noted Kenya's efforts in combating organize crime in the region. 

The guest also toured the DCI National Forensic Laboratory after which he held elaborate discussions with the Head of Forensics Dr. Mwangi Wanderi and other experts, on areas of cooperation and partnership in the analysis of evidential material and crime scene support.

Mr LECONTE is part of the delegation that accompanied the Haitian Police Chief Mr Frantz Elbe on a three-day official visit to Kenya for bilateral security discussions that ends today.

Kenya committed to deploy over 1000 police officers to help combat criminal gangs which have been raising havoc in the streets of Haiti escalating tensions.

The Move was also supported and Acknowledged by the US Government led by President Joe Biden whilst also getting approval from the United National but the High court of Kenya recently issued an order to stop the deployment citing pending time to access the situation
