Herder killed as rustlers make off with 200 cattle

More than 300 heavily armed raiders suspected to be Pokots from East Pokot Constituency on Tuesday at around 3.30PM attacked Nolkera area killing a lone herder and injuring two others before escaping with more than 200 herds of cattle.

A survey conducted by KNA indicated that the raiders overpowered the herder before escaping with the herd towards Tiaty area in Baringo County.

Another injured person believed to be a herder is being treated at Loosuk health centre awaiting to be taken to Maralal hospital for specialized treatment, that’s according to the Loosuk health officer Peter Lemeteki.

Residents are now blaming security officer's in Loosuk police camp and the Kenya Defense Forces at Nolkera and Pura in Loosuk location and called asked for immediate transfer of the officers.
