Safina party’s 2022 presidential hopeful Jimi Wanjigi has set the record straight on monetary investments he made in Jubilee’s 2013 and NASA’s 2017 presidential campaigns. Speaking during an interview with NTV on Monday night, Wanjigi said he did not keep a record of the money he invested in two campaigns, arguing that he believed working with President Uhuru Kenyatta (2013) and ODM leader Raila Odinga (2017) was the best decision for the people of Kenya. He further noted that a part from injecting money into the various campaign funds, there are various other ways of investing, including giving your time and generating ideas during meetings. In his view, the money he invested cannot be compared to the ideas and time he put in to ensure the two leaders win in the respective elections. Meanwhile, Safina party recently nominated Wanjigi as its presidential candidate for the August 2022 elections. Speaking after receiving the nomination, Wanjigi noted that if he is elected President, his main priority will be to improve the standard of living in the country, ensure prices of essential commodities drop and improve economic status of the country. "We must end this state capture. The state has been taken over by economic terrorists and the state capture has suffocated Kenyans. We must liberate them from this bondage," Wanjigi was quoted.
