J Blessing, Avril break-up

The love story of video Producer Jibril Blessing alias J Blessing and musician Judith Nyambura Mwangi popularly known as Avril is over, at least for now.

The two, according to J Blessing, have made a decision to part ways after seven years, coming on the backdrop of allegations of assault made public by Avril.

"Avril and I have agreed that it is best for both of us to stay away from each other to prevent such incidents from happening again," the producer said in a post on social media, after trending for the better part of Wednesday.

A drama-filled day started when Avril posted photos showing her injuries, reportedly occasioned by a physical assault from the music producer.

However, J Blessing said the photos were from an incident of a year ago, when they were involved in a physical altercation, pointing to a lead that their relationship was not a bed of roses, after all. They have a child.

"About a year ago, we had a physical altercation where both of us got hurt and I immediately took her to the hospital. I take full responsibility for that moment of weakness," he said.

After posting the photos, Avril said she has forgiven J Blessing, urging her social media followers to also forgive him.

"My heart is so heavy that I had to tell my world my business, I forgive you J, please find it in your heart to forgive him too," said the singer.

"We recognize the need for change and are committed to seeking help and learning healthier ways to communicate and resolve issues. Our mutual goal is to create a more positive and supportive environment for each other fostering understanding and growth."

She said by coming out in public, she is neither clout chasing nor seeking for public sympathy.

"Yes, I saw the ridicules about me deserving of everything I have gone through in my lifetime and I am sure there will be more ridicule. But I also saw the outpouring messages of love and support. This is just me being human and deeply understanding that everyone is deserving of humanity, especially in these times where we should all be kind to one another regardless of whether you receive kindness or not."

J Blessing on the other hand says she is not an abuser, and that she does not support violence against anyone.
