By Peter Ochieng The 2021 Kenya Certificate of Secondary School Education (KCSE) will be released on Friday, April 22, 2022. Through a post on social media, the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) said the event will be graced by Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) professor George Albert Magoha. “KCSE results scheduled to be released on 22nd April by CS Education George Magoha at KNEC HQ,” reads a post by KNEC on Facebook. The results will be released a few days before schools reopen for the first term of 2022. Over 700, 000 candidates sat for KCSE exams across the Country last month. The 2022 KCSE candidates will sit for exams towards the end of the year. Ahead of the exam’s release, President Uhuru Kenyatta has reassured Kenyan education stakeholders that roll-out and implementation of the Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC) is on course. “My administration has progressively expanded the education infrastructure to accommodate the growth in enrolment. This includes classrooms, desks and chairs as well as electricity. We are laying a firm foundation, a foundation for our children that will not be shaken,” he said in Mombasa on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. Initially, Simon Nabukwesi, University Education and Research Principal Secretary said those who sat for KCSE exams will start joining the university in June 2022. "The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) will start placing the candidates in the institutions immediately the KCSE results are released. There will be no waste of time. Candidates will be picked to join universities in early June. Those joining colleges and vocational institutes will do so in September,” he said.
