Keiyan Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Mark Mungut has been arraigned in a Narok court for allegedly inciting war in the troubled Nkararo area, Trans Mara West Sub County.
Appearing before Narok Resident Magistrate Daniel Ngayo on Friday, the second time MCA was however not charged as the prosecution side led by Senior Principal Prosecution Counsel Duncan Ondimu sought 14 days to complete investigations.
The court though declined to grant the detention order, slapping the MCA with a Sh50,000 bond and one surety with the alternative of Sh30, 000.
The court heard that the skirmishes were witnessed at Nkararu/Enosean adjudication boundary, famously known as Natembeya cutline where the Siria and Uasin Gishu clans of the Maasai community live.
The court ordered the MCA not to appear in the crime scene, not to interfere with the ongoing investigations and witnesses and not to make any inciting comments on the subject of investigations.
He is also expected to appear to report to the Criminal Investigation Office once every two weeks on the date agreed with the Investigating Officer.
The case will be mentioned on July 6, 2023.
