Kenya will host the third edition of the 30 under 30 Forbes Summit, later this year.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Tuesday said Kenya's request to host the key event was accepted during the ongoing Summit in Gaborone, Botswana.

The Botswana Summit which started on Saturday is expected to end today.

"I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the organisers and the great team behind the Forbes 30 Under 30 Africa Summit that is taking place in Gaborone, Botswana, for accepting Kenya's request to host the Third Edition of the prestigious event later this year," said Gachagua.

"I would like to assure the team of Randall Lane, the Chief Content Officer of Forbes Media and Editor of Forbes Magazine, Julius Mwale, industrial entrepreneur, investor and Principal of Mwale Medical and Technology City (MMTC), Shivish Soni of Sun Group, among other players with whom I had fruitful engagement this morning that Kenya will deliver," added the DP.

The Forbes Summit recognises youth entrepreneurship.

The Deputy President said successful hosting of the event will put Kenya on the world map.

"Besides putting Kenya on the world map as a leading tourism destination, the thousands of vibrant, tech-saavy youth of our country will be exposed to learn from each other on why they are the solution to the socio-economic challenges in Kenya and the globe."

"It will also be a huge motivation. Getting to be a thought leader in industry requires no magic, but hard work, determination and keeping the eye on the ball," he added.

He has been in Botswana, a South African nation since Saturday, on behalf of President William Ruto.
