Kenyatta University postpones semester 1 examinations for regular students
By Robert Mutasi
Kenyatta University has announced the rescheduling of Semester 1 examinations for the 2024/2025 academic year for its Regular students, both Full-time and Part-time.
The exams, originally set to run from 21st November to 11th December, 2024, will now take place from 28th November to 20th December, 2024.
The decision was communicated in an official statement released by the Registrar (Academic), Prof. Benard Kivunge, on Wednesday.
However, those taking the Continuing Education Programme and Virtual and Open Learning would, therefore, not be affected by the reviewed schedule.
The revised examination timetable shows that those in Virtual and Open Learning shall take their examinations from December 14 to December 20, while those in the Continuing Education Programme shall have theirs between December 19 and December 22.
In his statement, Prof. Kivunge urged all students to consult the updated examination timetable available on the website of the university for confirmation of the exact dates and venue for their respective examinations.
He insisted on the need for adherence to the new schedule so that there shall be a smooth examination experience for all.
Although there were no reasons specified for the Regular programme examinations rescheduling, the announcement underscores the university's commitment to a well-coordinated academic calendar.
The rescheduling comes at a critical point in the academic year when students wish to clear their examinations before the festive season.
The University hopes that the new timetable will ensure the resolution of any challenges to the organisation and administration of the exams, allowing consideration for all its learning programmes.
Kenyatta University encourages students to remain vigilant about official updates and to ensure they are adequately prepared for their examinations under the revised timetable.
